The 2005 Pittsfield Elms VBBC:                     Missing are catcher, Jeff (Backhoe) Reynolds & umpire, the Honorable, James P. Farry

The Pittsfield Elms Base Ball Club was first organized in 1862.  The club disbanded after two games were played.  The club reorganized after the close of the war and made a record of which not only the players but all of Pittsfield was proud.  The club won over 80% of the games played before they disbanded in 1892.

Formally known as the Hillies, the players have incorporated under new management and are now called the Pittsfield Elms.  The Elms enjoy the independence of their own direction and have earned respect throughout the vintage base ball community.  The Elms play exclusively under 1886 rules and therefore are limited in variety of clubs willing to engage in the 1886 game.
